Our Staff

Jami Walker - Principal

I began my career in education as a Grade Three teacher at OAPS in 2001. After teaching Grades One through Four over 10 years, I transitioned into the principal position in 2011.

Shelley Tenali - Kindergarten

I have taught for 17 years and celebrate my 10th anniversary of working at OAPS this year! I chose to make a difference in students' lives at OAPS because I feel that OAPS is one of the best Adventist schools in our system.

Grisel Blanco - Grade One

This is my first year at OAPS and my second year teaching in total. I have an M.S. in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Coming to Olney was an answer to prayer—GOD blessed me beyond belief with the opportunity to be able to work here!

Gabriela Bonilla - Grade Two

I began my teaching career two years ago after receiving my degree in Liberal Arts Education (Elementary Education). I grew up in Adventist schools my entire life and I knew that I wanted to be an Adventist teacher. My senior year in college, I wasn’t sure where I was going to end up. Then God opened the door to teach at OAPS. I am truly blessed to be at such an amazing, supportive, and Christ-centered school.

Joanna Meliti - Grade Three

I began teaching six years ago here at OAPS after completing graduate school. I taught Grade One for the first five years, but transitioned to Grade Three this year. I strive to inspire my students to achieve their fullest potential. Students who are inspired by their teachers can accomplish amazing things. I enjoy making a difference in students’ lives by helping them through an academic year and their short-term goals.

Miriam E. Troup - Grade Four

This is my first year at OAPS and my 13th year teaching. I completed my graduate studies in 2008 and want to continue working towards my doctoral degree in the near future. I believe that God led me to OAPS to be a part of a wonderful team of professionals who enjoy rigor and love working with children everyday. My desire is to ensure that every child is learning and preparing for success in this life and eternity.

Dana Audain - Middle School Math and Science

I started my career at OAPS 13 years ago and have since completed graduate school. I chose to make a difference in students' lives at OAPS because I love our kids! Students at other schools don't compare. I love to see the change in students as they grow and develop. I have also managed the yearbook for several years.

Yvette J. Patton - Middle School Language Arts

This is my first year teaching at OAPS and my 19th year teaching. I chose to make a difference in students' lives at OAPS because I love Olney Prep, its students and constituency and I currently serve as the Grade Six sponsor.

Matt Kohls - Middle School Bible and History

After 10 years of teaching, I made the move to OAPS two years ago. Jesus used teachers and other adults who took an interest in me to help me get to know Him personally, completely changing my life and giving me hope, peace, and purpose. I also serve as the Technology Coordinator and Grade Eight sponsor.

Francine Bergmann - Grade Five

This is my first year teaching at OAPS. I chose to make a difference in students' lives at OAPS because I witnessed, while substituting at OAPS, the professionalism, high standards, and community of the staff I wanted for my daughter. Sharing the love of Christ while expecting strong academics are the values I strive for daily.

Wayne Bussard - Middle School Math

I have worked at OAPS for 10 years and as a teacher in general for 37 years.

Esther Aviles - Spanish and Music

Lauren Scott - Art

This is my third year at OAPS. I chose to make a difference in students' lives at OAPS because I love the students and look forward to watching them grow in the love and knowledge for art. I am a proud parent of a current student, and assist the school with photography and general worker bee duties.

Kareen L. Rogers - Administrative Assistant

I have worked at OAPS for nine years. I chose to make a difference in students' lives at OAPS because their smiles make me smile. It brings satisfaction to know that I can be part of affecting their happiness.
